How to walk?

Contrary to popular belief. French Bulldogs do enjoy going for walks. Walking them in the cool of the day is always best as they do not cope with overly warm conditions. Walks to and from locations are great when they can have a break in between. A perfect example is going to your local cafe for coffee and cake. They are more than happy to help you eat your cake and clean up any spills and then meander back home. French bulldogs do not need walking every day to burn off energy and prevent them becoming destructive dogs. Walking them is more about spending the time with you.

Walking your French bulldog on a collar and lead or a harness and lead is a personal preference. If children are doing the walking then I would suggest a harness over a collar. If you find your Frenchie starts making chocking sounds, then opt for the harness.

French Bulldogs come into our lives for a purpose. They give us unconditional love, loyalty and always have our back when the bad days come. Treat them well, love them always and you will wonder how on earth you lived without them before.

It is important that your French Bulldog stays fit. Because of their flat faces, Frenchies can have breathing problems so it's best to do short, low-intensity walks. So regular exercise is always beneficial. Just like us humans. the fitter you are the less likely you are to have health problems. Keeping them fit also will help with their breathing, prevent being overweight and staying sound. So grab your lead and dog, even if they don't really want to and go and enjoy some time together. Sometimes the hardest part is getting started. Once out and about it will refresh the both of you.
