How to Protect?

French Bulldogs need protection from a few things. The main items are the heat, the cold, thieves and themselves when it comes to water. French bulldogs do best in moderate temperatures and should be carefully supervised in both high and low temperature ranges. Panting or shivering are both indications of excessive exposure. In warm and/climates or humid environments, air conditioning in the house and car are a must. In the winter months, indoors and heating are a must. Dog apparel is just not a fashion statement for these dogs but actually a beneficial item to help maintain body heat. Just make sure you find clothing that is designed with the french bulldogs physic in mind.

Thieves, thieves, thieves. Hands off our dogs. Unfortunately with any popular breed of dog, you will always find undesirables who are trying to make a quick buck that does not involve them working for it. Always lock your dog in the house when away or better still take them with you if you can. Please don't become paranoid but also do not become complacent. Keep their microchip details up to date. Use your common sense and keep you best friend safe.

So be mindful of your pup growing up. Puppy proof your house and provide areas where they are safe when you are unable to watch them. Spend time training and playing with them for brain stimulation. Do annual health checks. Keep up their worming and vaccination regime. Feed good quality food, but don't overfeed. Protect from the weather elements, supervise around children and other pets. and especially water of any type. Keep them fit and exercised within their limits and you will have a sound happy friend for a long time to come. Don't forget the "No Brainer" of Lots and Lots of cuddles and affection.
